Program Coordinator Professional Events

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing high-quality online events for clinicians, practitioners and researchers in the field of mental healthcare and psychedelic science. This role requires extensive knowledge of psychedelic clinical and research practices, as well as an understanding of the needs of professionals working in these areas. As a program coordinator you will develop concepts and themes for online events, maintain communication with speakers, align scheduling with other stakeholders and offerings on the event calendar, and ensure events are executed flawlessly. You will work both independently as well as in a team, and collaborate closely with and report to the Community Manager. Knowledge about psychedelic science and therapy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to engage our target audience are essential. Event moderation skills are a plus.

KEY Responsibilities

Program Development: Curate a diverse range of engaging and informative content tailored to the interests and needs of mental healthcare professionals who are interested in working with psychedelics. Coordinate with speakers, presenters, and vendors to ensure seamless event execution.

Event Planning: Develop event concepts, topics, and objectives for online events. Identify and liaise with suitable speakers, manage communication, and handle all logistical aspects of the events. Ensure perfect alignment both in terms of content and scheduling with other events and programs in the OPEN Foundation portfolio.

Post-event Evaluation: Collect and analyze feedback to assess event success. Use insights to refine future event strategies, retain community members, identify new audiences, and improve overall quality.

Reporting: Regularly update and discuss planning and organization with the Community Manager to ensure alignment with overall organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Experience:
    • Proven experience in event planning and organization, particularly within professional and/or academic settings.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple events concurrently, meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality.

  • Knowledge and Skills:
    • Psychedelic Science: In-depth understanding of psychedelics, including their therapeutic potential, current research, ethical considerations, and regulatory aspects (and/or a demonstrated willingness to learn in underdeveloped areas of expertise).
    • Clinical Practices: Familiarity with clinical methodologies, best practices and needs related to psychedelic therapy.
    • Research Acumen: Strong grasp of research methodologies with the ability to translate complex scientific information into engaging event content.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with virtual event platforms (e.g., Zoom, Circle) and related technologies.
    • Competence in using project management and collaboration tools such as Coda and Slack.

  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including researchers, clinicians, and community managers.
    • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a focus on clarity, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
